The Grenada School District is the recipient of myriad awards.
The Public Education Forum of Mississippi has recognized the
"Walls that Teach" initiative, the "Kidzeum,"
and the "Discovery Lab" with Awards of Excellence,
and Business Week Magazine has acclaimed Grenada Elementary
as one of the country's "Break the Mold" schools.
For seven consecutive years, Grenada has been selected to exhibit
at the National School Board's "Education Excellence Fair,"
a display commending superior programs across the country. The
American Association of School Administrators presented the
"Leadership for Learning Award for 2000" to Dr. Buddy
Pender, one of three superintendents selected nationwide for
this honor. Grenada School District fosters innovative and productive
programs and continuously searches for the most effective teaching
methods available for optimum student achievement.
Grenada School District has attained a variety of achievements
during the past decade. From our nationally recognized band
programs, to the acquisition of the Tech-Prep program and improvement
in student achievement scores, Grenada School District is continually
advancing. State-of-the-art student training programs paired
with over $2,000,000 of modern technology are preparing our
students for tomorrow's challenges.
