They help identify projects and establish priorities and then implement them. Past projects have included the distribution of dogwood trees and Crepe Myrtles, landscaping at various intersections, welcome signs, welcome banners, anti- litter program, and the clean-up of sites throughout the area.
Education Partnership
The Chamber’s partner with area schools through its Education Committee whose mission is to support education efforts in Grenada County. Programs exist that recognize students and educators for outstanding achievements in the classroom. In addition, the committee focuses on projects designed to help students make the proper choices to succeed in life. They also serve as Grenada’s First Book Advisory Board which distributes free books to students to improve reading skills & to expand their horizons.
Downtown Revitalization
The Chamber’s Downtown Revitalization Committee mission is to redevelop Grenada’s historic downtown district. As traditional businesses have succumbed to changes in the retail market, many downtown areas are vacant. WE HAVE A PLAN! We are attempting to establish a beautiful historic district filled with art galleries, retail, antique shops, and much more.
Leadership Grenada
The Chamber’s Leadership Committee accepted a challenge to ensure that new leadership be continually added to our business community. Their goal is to identify persons with leadership potential, to strengthen their leadership abilities, and to develop quality leaders within the community.
General Contribution
Not sure which initiative you would like for your contribution to be applied? The Chamber staff extends a sincere “Thank You” and will be glad to apply your contribution to the area most needed.
